The school days are gone. Gone are even the days of the nascent adolescence..
Now is the time of darkness and fear and the time when the threat lies within.
World War I was a result of diplomatic clashes, alliances, militarism, imperialism, nationalism.
World War II was a result of nationalistic tensions, unresolved issues, and the rise of Hitler as well.
World War III if happens would be a display of N weapons and technology.
Among all these wars that have happened and those which have been predicted, the unpredicted but the unforgotten one is the War which lies within us. No time to wait since we have already greeted it with open arms and smiling face. Infact we have generously invited one on us.
65 years ago, a magnificent man –Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru , India’s first Prime Minister, stood on the dais and spoke those golden words of Tryst with Destiny – “Long years ago we made a tryst with destiny, and now the time comes when we shall redeem our pledge, not wholly or in full measure, but very substantially. At the stroke of the midnight hour, when the world sleeps, India will awake to life and freedom. A moment comes, which comes but rarely in history, when we step out from the old to the new, when an age ends, and when the soul of a nation, long suppressed, finds utterance. It is fitting that at this solemn moment, we take the pledge of dedication to the service of India and her people and to the still larger cause of humanity.” (This is just an excerpt from the whole of the speech )
And here we are waiting yet again for someone to rise and free the people of this nation from the slavery to corrupt, to the goons, to all those anti-social elements who are the blood sucking leeches of the society.
When something goes wrong we just turn to our left then to our right and find someone to put the blame on. We blame it on people, people blame it on Government and our beloved Government on the people back again. Vicious circle that it is.
Spending a moment on the thought that the Government is our doing. They are just somebody from us with a dash of power and money. We the youth are either negligent to access our morale right to vote or are suppressed by some monetary benefits.
Well all of us must be capable to rant, to tweet, to blog but with a clear perspective that someone else should come and change the nation we belong to for good, someone else should dirty their hands and that someone should take all the blame. We are then yet again ready with our pens which are mightier than the swords.
I am not doing anything different.
On the 65th year of Independence, when I look down onto past few years I grossly remember that 15th Aug is the day looked upon as an unconditional holiday.
It’s also a day on which we the people of this nation wake up to the sound of that obnoxious outcry of loudspeakers blaring with patriotic songs and the hearts racing though not of the feeling but due to the sound.
The only day when the mornings are full of the much required patriotism, of the Tricolor, of the speeches, rallies and of hoax promises.
Though these days the day is also of tight security, potential terror attacks and of deep intense fear.
We are truly fighting a war within, which when resolved will we attain a complete freedom.
Jai Hind!!!
